- oki oki : more than OK
- Oki Oki, Trinoma Mall

I agree with caiphas... i share the same first impression, for the multitude of times that i have been to trinoma i never gave oki oki a thought of trying until my 5-yr old daughter begged me for us to give it a try.Rating

we tried the gyudon, maki (i forgot the name - but i think it's their version of california maki), chicken teriyaki and tamago soup.
after our first try with oki oki... my daughter gave 2 thumbs up to the crew of oki oki. - Was this review...? Useful | Useless | Bogus

- yehey Tapuey!
- Cafe by the Ruins, Baguio City
-
my last visit to Cafe by the Ruins was like 5 years ago, yet everytime i run back memory lane it's as if it was just there last week. i have no idea now what the resto looks like now... but it was unlike any other resto here in Metro Manila, plus of course the centralize climate control of nature.Rating

i had a breakfast set meal - the rice was great and the tapa has a distinct taste (am not sure exactly what, but it was good)... believe it or not i ordered for a second serving. the waiter suggested that i give the tapuey a try... it's a native rice wine fermented by the ifugaos. it has a sweet soury taste and at the same time burns subtly through your throat - believe me, i could probably drink a liter of it myself. although, i think it's not for the weak in stomach as others i know have found the taste unappealing to their palate.
all in all the service is good, the menu is well thought out and dining in Cafe by the Ruins is an experience that will make you remember Baguio with a smile. - Was this review...? Useful | Useless | Bogus

- Home of Pares
- Jonas, Retiro
-
I was once told by my cousin that Jona's is where the word "Pares" was coined. What used to be an eatery in a garage is now a stand alone building in Retiro - that according to my cousin who with all enthusiasm recounts the story while boasting of the Pares that Jonas serves.Rating

And true enough, as soon as the Pares touched my palate - I couldn't say a word, I just raised two thumbs up to my cousin.
I ordered a siopao for take-out, it was good... but I think it could have tasted better if I ate it as soon as I ordered it.
Anyways, Jona's is popular in the neighborhood and neighboring baranggays that mostly during dinner time on weekends, parking could be difficult and getting a table could be tricky. But then with their pares -- it's worth the wait. - Was this review...? Useful | Useless | Bogus

- Nice view... Nice Food... Good Service
- Fish Out of Water, Greenbelt 5

The title says everything that I am supposed to write. I just had dinner there tonight with a friend, we had the Paella which to our surprise is a bigger serving than we thought. Initially I ordered carrot juice shake (i'm a sucker for for it), but then the waiter came back and informed me that their carrots somehow started to smell funny -- it was nice of them to do that... i appreciate their gesture of honesty.Rating

I printed the promo that they offer to us Munchpunchers and we got the Ham, Bacon and Cheese Croquettes for appetizers as well as the 5% disc. -- no fuss no hassle.
The Barako Cheesecake was a revelation... coffee and cheese together yet each flavor is tasted distinctly from each other.
All in all it was a great experience and I sure would be going back to get my teeth on their vigan longganisa pizza.
Fish Out of Water -- highly recommended! - Was this review...? Useful | Useless | Bogus

- Do not judge the book... cover it!
- Wham! Burgers, SM North - The Block
-
You are sure to exclaim WHAM because primarily their real estate is small and most of the time you have to wait on others to finish to get a seat. Furthermore you are most likely to get your burger as if prepared by a 4th grader and wrapped by a 3rd grader. But all it takes is one bite, and as soon as you sink your teeth into it... WHAM! there it goes.Rating
