    Never on a Monday

Going to a restaurant named "Clawdaddy" and being told that they ran out of crabs is like going to Starbucks and being told they ran out of coffee. At this point, you would be justified in screaming, "Magsara na kayo!". Well, that's exactly what happened to us. Which is too bad because the food at this restaurant is really good, as christians we are taught to be forgiving, but as a food lover eagerly expecting to eat crabs at a crab specialty restaurant, this situation is unacceptable. Despite this disappointing setback, the food is actually very good. The Salmon with passion fruit vinaigrette is really good. If you prefer a less sweet dressing, the seared tuna and calamari salad is just the salad for you. However, in hindsight, I noticed that they were quite stingy with the cheese. I hardly tasted any on either salad. And as everybody knows, as I will mention for the second time, a savory green salad without cheese is like Starbucks without coffee! Magsara na kayo! To compund our disappointment, the pasta we ordered, a clammy spaghetti, would have been delicious except for the fact that they used bamboo clams. Bamboo clams have thin shells which break up easily when mixing the pasta. You end up eating something like pasta with broken eggshells in it. Something the chef should look into. And also missing in abundance on the pasta is...cheese!!! So for the third and hopefully last time, pasta without cheese is like Starbucks without the coffee. Magsara na kayo! Why this is so, we pondered was maybe because it was a Monday. They must have been fully booked on Sunday so they ran out of supplies. Anyway, do try the pink snapper. It is sooo good. It was fresh and flavorful and goes well with the accompanying vegetables of carrots, potatoes and courgettes. The oysters with pesto could use some improvement though. It was to be accompanied with oysters in olive oil with sundried tomatoes, but they ran out of sundried tomatoes. Don't worry, I won't scream 'Starbucks' here. All in all, it would have been a really nice dining experience and despite the disappointments, yes, I would like to come back here, but never on a Monday

If you crave for something different, this might be the place for you. Aside from the usual chocolate cake variations, they also serve blueberry cheesecakes and other fruit-based desserts. But no other bakeshop offers sweets like avocado cake, durian cake, calamansi tea cakes, pina polvorons, etc. The owner is a chemist with a passion for baking who finally decided to combine the two. The avocado cake is really good and the durian cake goes very well with coffee, this comes from someone who hates eating cake with coffee (except with the kopi bun from kopiroti). I was supposed to try the chocolate decadent cake, but when I got home, my mom ate all of it (I brought home about half a cake) so it must be good too. Prices range from quite expensive to reasonable. The more expensive ones can go as high as P750 and can go as low as P300. I hear they're opening a small outlet at Tiendesitas.

As japanese as you can get it.

Very few people might know of this Little Tokyo place along Pasong Tamo. It is actually a block made up of small japanese restaurants, located beside Makati Cinema Square. It's not a date place but if you want really good japanese food, this is the place to go. The servings are ample enough for you to be satisfied and the price is not bad at all. Sulit na sulit. It's usually filled to capacity during lunch time. It's sort of Makati's little secret in that it's hard to find a reasonably priced restuarant in Makati that serves food this good. The iced coffee is especially memorable. I mean forget Starbucks' Frapuccinos. The iced coffee is as good as it gets. Although I warn you it is very strong. I lied awake all night and I drank it sometime after lunch! The Bento box set meals are good but there are other dishes that the more adventurous eater might like to try, I personally liked the bowl of rice with raw salmon & salmon roe as topping. Although admittedly eating a whole bowl of it nearly made me sick, but it was worth it.

This is the place to go if you're in the mood for baby back ribs. Not only are they good, but the barkada size is really barkada size. I recommend the salmon and mango salad with honey mustard dressing. The cioppino pasta wasn't that good though, it was very ordinary and not worth ordering in a restaurant.

Seven Corners is no Spiral or Heat but it is good enough considering it is cheaper than the aforementioned restaurants. I especially like seafood carpaccio with the salmon and mussels. The create your own pizza is okay too, but I prefer the assorted cheeses displayed at the pizza station all on their own. The ice cream teppanyaki however was dissappointing. It didn't have as many choices as the one in Shangri-la's Heat restaurant. Don't bother with the dessert though, they look mighty good but that's all. They don't taste that good.

    Your friendly neighborhood chinese restaurant

This is actually my second time to eat at this restaurant. The first time was their branch in Paranaque. We accidentally discovered it because we were so hungry we just went into the nearest restaurant we can find. Luckily, we went to Luk Foo.
The food is good as well as any chinese restaurant, and I have been to many chinese restuarants in my time. But what I like about it is that it is very reasonably priced. We had seven dishes and all we paid was somthing like P1,700! I recommend the spiced pork ribs, and the bean curd wrapped mushrooms. The pata tim is also good, the fish, however, was not so fresh.

    Memorable Greek Meal

My friend treated us to this restaurant for his birthday and it was definitely a treat. The ambience is very cheerful what with the intermittent shouts of OPA!!!! by the staff everytime they set fire to a sizzling type of dish, it is very well suited to family dining. But the most memorable part of this restaurant is, of course, the food. I especially loved the Tonnos Salata, not only was it really good, it was also a lot! I'd say the serving is good for 5-6 people assuming it isn't the only thing you will order. The Paidalikia is also good. I'm not a fan of lamb but this one is realy well made, I certainly did not miss the beef.
