I haven't been to Kenny Rogers for a long time... and I should have NEVER been back.

It was a last ditch effort to have dinner in Galleria at 830pm. I should just skipped dinner!

I ordered they're solo B roasted chicken meal. The chicken leg part is so small. Inflation!! The rice was NOT even good.... as were the side dishes (baby corn and garlic cheese potatoes).

We also ordered their new grilled dishes, the fish. It was dry and tasteless. And the sauce was just unimaginably toyomansi.

The experience just ruined how i "used" to like Kenny Rogers.

It was Sunday family dinnertime in Rockwell. And there's the long line heading to the counter of Pepper Lunch.

Since it's our first time to try the resto, we wanna try out as many dishes as we can. What a Happy Foodie Family!

    To summarize....

Beef Pepper Rice - pretty good. Cheapest at P198 ala carte but it basically a big mound of rice with beef slices with lots of fat.

Shimofuri Steak, Yamasaka Steak, Rib Eye Steak - pricey steaks at P600+!! but if you must order one, get the Shimofuri. Or just get expensive steaks in a casual dining place for the same price rather than have it in a fastfood joint.

Shake! Salads - tried the 3 kinds. Get the Sesame Chicken if u have to have one.

Steak and Hamburger Combo - beef steak slices were too fatty. Kinda like bacon. Cardiac Arrest!

    Matcha Cheesecake - so-so....

Chocolate Cake - very good! Kinda like a lava cake with a gooey warm chocolate center.

But I must say that the staff was very cordial eventhough there was a long line of hungry diners.

    thanks yeschef2003..

but the hash browns were really fries that were made to stick together or kinda piled up.. they weren't shredded potatoes.

I think it would have been better if they just told me they didnt have any hash browns than being served that pile of fries. Maybe they just think that people don't have any idea what hash browns are.

Anyway, I kinda like the shredded pre-cooked potatoes type of hash browns that are cooked in clarified butter over a griddle :)

Just recently, a friend of mine came back from Boracay. And my pasalubong was a box of calamansi cupcakes from Real Coffee and Tea Cafe. A real treat. Reminds me of the cafe with Nadine being all sweet in the counter and talking about how much change there have been in Boracay.

The cafe serves very good omelet. I like the one with chicken and pesto. The best place there is to sit in the corner booth and just enjoy beach life.

Boracay sure have metamophosed through the years but Nadine's Calamansi Cupcakes sure make you feel how great Boracay is.

I just like this place for its Americanized Sushi specialties.

The other dishes are just ok and reasonably priced

I've heard good things about the Cookbook Kitchen.
And maybe I shouldn't have listened.

They say it's inexpensive. True that the menu prices aren't much but the portion size is small anyway.

Taste? The Adobo Pasta was very good but the others was just ok. The Kielbasa wasn't really that special, neither was the Pork Steak with Mustard Sauce. The Parmesan Crusted White Fish was ok too.

Did I expect too much? Maybe.
    Was I happy? Not Really.

Cyma in Shang is always busy. So it's always good to plan whenever one wants to dine there or one should have enough patience to wait for a table.

When I do get to get a table, I just know that everything's going to be good. If only the waiter would pay attention to me.

I always like the souvlaki, usually the swordfish or the lamb. Pastas are good specially the beef shank and the one with clams.

The salads are very good. Just request that they prepare the sauce on the side 'coz they have this very bad habit of drowning the greens with salad dressing.

If you just wanna snack, you could just get the chicken gyros.

I just had one problem the last time i was there. They charged me a 10%service charge for a take out item. Oh well.....

I ordered Beef Teppanyaki, beef cubes teppanyaki style but got thin slices of beef done like teriyaki and the sauce had too much cornstarch in it. Somehow the menu description of the dish got lost in the kitchen.

The grilled mackerel was too thin and was a little too"fishy" in the belly.

The mixed sashimi wasn't s fresh as I'm used to.

I guess the Kimpura's Japanese cuisine got lost in translation for me.
