I love, love, love the food here. The service is great and fast, the servings are huge, and the food is fab. They also served free mini buttermilk pancakes and hot soup, which was perfect for hungry customers (who had to wait in line at another restaurant but definitely can't wait to be seated) like us.

The place is happy-bouncy, bright and shiny. :) Can it be helped if I knew that it's the same guys who put up Heaven 'n Eggs who's behind this grill and diner? :)

Ambiance was perfect but the place was a little too small. If it's a weekend or a holiday better have the place reserved ahead of time (or go during lunch on a weekday).

    The good stuff:
Crispy Chicken Tenders - true to its name
    Roadhouse Salad to share
    Crispy Calamari
    Grilled Pork Chops

    Servers were great too.

    Not Much for Customer Service
    The Polu Kai Grill, Serendra

I'd have to agree with the earlier review about Polu Kai's customer service. The person standing by the menu outside the restaurant was not even pleased to see us looking over the menu and did not offer any assistance at all.

When we decided to eat there (because there was really no choice as all the other restaurants were full), the waiters and waitress couldn't have been more unhappy to take our orders and requests (I had a toddler with me and had to require a lot of tissues, water, and a high chair). The high chair i asked for took a while before they produced it and I had to ask for it twice.

The food was served fast enough (which was good because had it been otherwise, the restaurant would've sucked big time) and it tasted great. The place also looked the part (it's a Hawaiian restaurant that had aptly looking designs).

But the thing is, for me and maybe for a lot of people, we eat at places we know that will serve our needs happily and willingly. It's part of the eating experience, right? But if you're going to eat at a place like this where the servers don't live up to the name, then it's not worth it.
