    never again
    Mr. Kurosawa, Eastwood Mall

It was a Sunday evening when my friend and I decided to give Mr. Kurosawa a try. That night, we regretted that decision.

We chose one of the tables outside, and though the waiter and waitress outside practically saw us, it took time for them to attend to us. When the waitress finally did approach us, she said the menus were being used inside, so we gotta wait. It would’ve been helpful if she approached us immediately after we sat down and told us that. That was the first sign of bad customer service.

We ordered Tonkatsu, Seafood Curry, refillable Blue Iced Tea, and Chamomile tea. There was absolutely nothing special about these. If we made a mistake in our orders, if these are not their specialty, then the Tonkatsu should definitely be removed from their menu. I might as well go to Teriyaki Boy.

What was so horrific with this experience? The Tonkatsu was served around 30 minutes after we ordered, and take this – the Seafood Curry exactly in an hour! It took about 3 follow-ups to have it in front of me. True it was a Sunday, and all the tables are filled. But sitting there without my dinner, I was able to observe the other tables:
    1. their waiters/waitresses (with blank expressions on their faces) keep serving orders to the wrong table
    2. it really takes a long time before the orders are served. Nearby tables were already complaining
    3. other tables’ orders got served ahead of mine

When it was time to get the bill, should I have been surprised it took 15 minutes and 2 follow-ups to finally get it? We missed our movie screening time because if that.

So Mr. Kurosawa, I’m sorry, but never again!

if i would name a favorite resto off the top of my head - i would say PASTO ^_^
make sure to order crostini. spinach artichoke and basil pesto are my favorites. pomodoro salsa is not too bad too, and chiken pate (if you're into chicken liver).
recently, i've tried Zuppa di Pomodoro and it's good. it's tomato and cream based soup.
if you're going to order pasta, the actual menu at PASTO is more helpful. it's broken down into cream-based, tomato-based, and oil-based. my favorite is Genovese.
for Secondi, i love their Piccata. be sure to check out their blackboard for new meals.
also, make sure to check out their bar list! they have a promo where you can get 3 cocktails/shots for only Php195!

i'm giving this resto 5 star for food (of course!), for service (i feel spoiled 'cos they remember us being regular customers), for ambiance (simple black and red theme, but i love it) and for value (a bit pricey, but it's worth it)

make sure to visit PASTO in Eastwood ^_^

went here on dec 25 with dennis and family.

after hearing from different people about how good the food is, and after hearing so much about the LJC (larry j cruz) food group -- my experience here turns out to be a big disappointment.

the signboard on the 2nd floor says "No Cigars Please". i wonder if they didn't mean 'smoking' in general. one thing i hate the most is when i'm eating and i can smell someobody else's smoke.

the time it took to cook our orders is DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE WAIT.

    we had:

seafood fetuccini - too bland. nothing special about it.
sausage - what's so difficult about slicing imported sausage and sauteing it.
chicken ala kiev - just blah
fish and chips - turns out to be fish and potato wedges. the fish is just bland.

went to polu kai wednesday last week. there was no one to greet us at the door. and when we managed to catch the attention of one of the hustling waiters, he nonchalantly said there were no more tables. so much for customer service.

we're going to set up a reservation this christmas eve (if they're even open). until then, my rating is n/a.

190 pesos for a small bowl of kani salad which you could get from teriyaki boy for less than a hundred pesos (which tastes far better)???
    definitely not worth it!!!

just went again to al dente this wednesday. when we first entered the resto, there was a distinct unpleasant smell. not sure if i'm just imagining it. but it sure is not a smell that would entice your appetite.

the chairs and tables layout, too cramped now. the place is small, they shouldnt arrange it as such. before they had this cute plant table centerpiece, now its just a cardboard ad of baileys.

there is only 1 comfort room-its communal.

i usually order the pasta linguini with clams. this time, it's not as good as i remember it to be.

we usually order pizza. their pizzas are always good. the crust is thin, so it wont bloat you.

tip-if you're going to order lemonade, dont order fresh lemonade. just order regular. their fresh lemonade is way too sour!

    service can also be improved.
