People have a notion that TGI Fridays is very expensive. Well, not anymore. They recently launched a marketing campaign wherein they are giving out red promotional coupons (sort of ang pao of the Chinese) with a really great bargain!Rating

My friend and I went there for lunch, we were sooo full and our bill was only P 228. Imagine that? We used the coupon and they gave us a meal that has 6 juicy chicken fingers and loads of french fries. I did not expect this since it was just for free so I was thinking maybe it would be like 2 piece of chicken strips and maybe soggy fries-- but no! So aside from the 1 free viand that we got due to the red coupon, we ordered the Tuscan Vegetarian Sandwich and it wasn't boring like other veggie sandwiches. There were perfectly sauteed onions inside with few mouthwatering mushrooms-- just right to have that heavenly taste! And oh, did I mention that this order came in with a hefty tomato soup?
Again, our bill was just P228. Two orders that quite made our day. I guess this promotional coupons will not be in the market for too long huh, so take advantage of thier promo :)
Their people were great too. Very courteous, neat-looking and attentive to our specific needs. Overall, the dining experience we had was a great time to unwind after having a stressful workload. - Was this review...? Useful | Useless | Bogus

- SOMS Noodle House, Makati

Interesting. This is how I would picture Soms Noodle House in Makati. It used to be one of Makati's best kept secret restos that you could brag to your kabarkadas which you found; but now, everybody knows about it already! Thanks to the book entitled, Manila's Best Kept Restaurant Secrets, this eatery is now a huge name.Rating

Food is ofcourse the main reason on why people go here. Some of my favorites are the Tom Yam Soup, Phad Thai, Red or Green Curry Tofu ( to die for-- promise), mango salad, bagoong rice, spring rolls and Thai Iced Tea. My friend's brother actually drops by at Soms often on his way home from Ateneo QC just to buy 5 bottles of this Thai Iced Tea :)
You cannot expect the food to be as Thai-ee as the real kanto food that you buy along the streets of Bangkok but this resto can definitely be close to the real thing. As a matter of fact, it is better than other Thai restos in many malls.
The value for money is F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C! I mean it's a bit pricey for a carinderia, but for the quality of food? The money I paid for is worth it.
Ok, let's be real here. How can you expect the best ambiance for something really cheap (relative to the quality of food)? The place is ofcourse not the best in town but you just have to be smart in having the right timing. When my colleagues and I went there on a Friday payday, ofcourse it was too crowded and the waiters did not pay too much attention on us. On the other hand, I tried going there with my mom and her friends on a Sunday morning say like 10 am. The crowd was small and we had a refreshing brunch-- it felt like we were in Bali because we were in the outdoor dining area and there were plants behind us (Rockwell's, hehe).
I can't stress enough how the value for money is definitely worth the try. If you are up for a small eating adventure, try something unique to the palate that would not break the bank.
Yuuum!
