- Modern Deli
- Alexa's Deli Cafe and Wine Bar, Dela Costa - OLD RECORD
-
When you actually find this place, and finally get some parking you get quite a pleasant surprise when you step into the place. The design is a more modern take on the deli and features a lot of straight hard lines. Imagine a restaurant with black marble, bright pin lights, and a glass counter. It's clean, and kind of cold.Rating

It has its appeal. The place looks really fresh, but has a certain 'commercial' look to it, akin to the starbuck effect.
Anyway, the food choices are interesting. There are a lost of salad choices and a myriad selection of cheese available. Of the specialty sandwiches I ordered (turkey and pastrami) I was pleasantly surprised to see that in my sandwich was more than the adequate amount of meat, fresh greens and cheese. I like it. I highly recommend that you should get the sandwich.
As it goes with the cheese selection, they're a little bit more pricey but you can choose from a lot. So I would recommend getting a little of the less frequently seen cheeses, so you won't feel gimped when you try another deli.
A lot of people would prefer to pay a little more to get this level of quality for the deli needs, so try it out and if it is what appeals to you then by all means. I'd come back here if I'm feeling a bit affluent. - Was this review...? Useful | Useless | Bogus

This place reminds me a lot of the old wine cellars there were quite common among expats. The walls were line with a large array of bottles and food packages. It gives this place a less restrictive and a bit homey appeal. It's something like an old warehouse, not excatly the picture of pampered comfort a lot of people might be looking for. But if you're into the rustic feeling, this is a great place to be.Rating

The service here is great. The waiters and waitresses are more than willing to accomodate you and entertain most of your questions regarding the available selection. They won't hold back in giving you samples of your favorite cold cuts or cheese.
I'm not exactly an expert on wines but you can have your fill here whether you like white, red or sparklies.
Now if you're looking for creature comforts, like cushioned chairs and table cloths. The only thing you'll get here are the warm lights. It is cozy but not comfy.
So far this is the best place to go if you are looking for some cold cuts and cheese. And even though it tucked away in some hard to find nook, I find myself gravitating back to it. - Was this review...? Useful | Useless | Bogus
