Alabama Mud Pie.. The best reason to go!

So, they have a new branch.

    Remembering my 1st Gump Experience:
After looking at the menu, we decided to order the Forrest's Shrimpers (or is it Skimper's?=P) Net Catch.. It was served on a bucket. I thought WOW!! BIG serving!! But no.. Don’t be fooled.. Shrimps were actually just placed on top of the net covered bucket. Not as much as we first expected and we all laughed when we realized the 'catch'! It was so funny.. But nothing bad. It's good but price can be a bit expensive for the small portioning of that dish.

Ok, ‘nough said.. fast forward to dessert..

The Alabama Mud Pie.. it’s been more than a year, but how can I forget…
This is the best (if not the only) reason I'll go back to this restaurant. A H-U-G-E slice of chocolate and vanilla ice cream cake that can be shared by 4 dessert-lovers!

The menu says ‘…a cool layer of chocolate and vanilla ice cream with chunks of Snickers topped with caramel and streams of chocolate syrup, smothered with crunchy peanuts..’ just didn’t do justice to this sweet thing.. Tea (from the old reviews) says ’…to die for!’ is I think a much better description.

    Now that I remember it..
Might drop by anytime soon in this new branch. I wouldn't mind trying their other dishes. I hope there will be something more to look forward to..

*will update you when I do.. 3 stars for now! (but 5 stars for the mudpie!)*

Pink. blue. green. gray. brown. yellow. orange.. wow.. dots and dots of colorful mini treat that's bursting with flavors.

    Bubblegum, strawberry, orange, mango, chocolate...

It's been around for awhile now... it's not as 'fad-licious' as it used to, but i find it nice to have a cup once in awhile. I still love the delightful flavors and the cool melt-in-your-mouth feel of these cute dots... Surprise me with a cup of bubblegum and I'll consider a date with you! ;-)

    Hhhmm.. The Banoffee...

A slice of banoffee pie... with big chunks of fresh bananas bonded together by toffee caramel, topped with white cream and thick flakes of dark chocolate on a bed of graham crust... Isn't it yummy? This is one of the best banoffee I've tasted. Not too sweet, just perfect if you love the fruit and dark chocolate.. and cream!

Desserts. Chocolate. Cream. Sugar. Sweet... Sounds deliciously sinful, but no need to feel guilty. You're actually giving your body a healthy dose of dark chocolate and potassium in a sweet package.

The P65 peso slice is so filling (did I mention it comes with generous toppings of big rough flakes of dark chocolate that's already falling off the sides and fresh sweet bananas which you know comes from a good quality source?-I hope they will maintain that!). A slice is good with coffee, better when split with a friend, and best when shared with a sweetie pie!

'...i am disappointed to say the least and the experience strengthens my resolve never to believe food reviews.'

haha.. I agree. I have similar experiences. I buy magazines to check out what's new... some article reviews are relevant, some are not. Depends on the restaurant - how they present to PR writers and the personal taste of the writer can also be factor - to each his own, I suppose.

Maybe what he meant to say is paid (written for publicity) food reviews though. There are some writers and reviews that are honest and really based on foodies' personal dining experiences. Just like your review, Jon929.

    Heavenly Wicked Dessert

Every time I dine at CYMA, on top of the different dishes I order - the Spinach and Artichoke Fondue is always included. I love the salty taste of the fondue- with sun-dried tomatoes, feta, melted cheese, and the crunchy on the edge and soft in the middle way the garlic bread is grilled.

Some of their food are delicious.. some I don't like..blah bah blah!!! Now, going to desserts...

    SKOLATINA is heavenly!

It is a chocolate molten cake on a bed of roasted chestnut sauce and beside a creamy vanilla ice cream. Hhmm.. Sweet and seductive, isn't it? I love the contrast.. hot & cold, dark chocolate & light creamy vanilla, shade of ebony & ivory..

Slice the cake and release the oozing chocolate syrup...enjoy the aroma of chocolate and love every bite! If you order and it's overly done, just ask the waiter and they'll replace it without questions - only with an apology.

Ooh, Heavenly Wicked is a better description!
