Old reliable

I've always loved Spanish food, and Casa Armas has for many years been one of my favorite places to get it.

Start off with the Gambas al Ajillo and Chorizo Frito. Paired with the complimentary bread and butter, it's a perfect and tasty start to your meal.

We always order the Paella Valenciana, which is rich, flavorful, and chock-full of great ingredients. You would be plenty full with just this, actually (we usually add a serving of salpicado to go with the paella), but if you're celebrating, or feel like splurging - order ahead for their special roast chicken (Asado de Pollo Ensu Jugo Plato Speciales) or their Cochinillo al Horno.

Can't say much about the desserts, as we're often too full to have any by the end of our meal.

For good Spanish food in the Metro, this is a safe bet. :)

Big Smile On Our Faces

4

My 2 friends and I had dinner here last night and we surely had big smiles on our faces when we left the resto. All the food we ordered were yummy. We ordered Gambas Al Ajillo and Tapa as appetizers. They also gave us their complimentary bread and butter slices. You can easily taste the fried garlic in the gambas and the effect of the chili is just right. Not too spicy. My other friend who is fond of spicy stuff ate all the chili in the dish remaining with the olive oil. The beef slices (tapa) was fine. It also came with vinegar. As entrees, we ordered the Paella Negra. Two thumbs up for this dish. Very tasty. We also tried the Callos and the Lengua Estofada. We were not disappointed. There were some VIPs next to our table and they ordered the Cochinillo al Horno ala Casatellana (roast baby pig). We were salivating while one of the waiters was cutting the dish in a ritualistic manner. We cannot help but look. To cap our pleasant night, we had brewed coffee. Very nice aroma and the taste is full-bodied and not bland. The waiter remarked that the coffee is being supplied by Bo's. For all the stuff we ordered, we spent about P2600.00 which is quite reasonable for us.
Ambiance: The place is just the right size. I liked the interiors. There was even 2 stuffed bulls' faces on the wall. There was a decent wine selection placed on the wall near the bar.
Service: The waiters here were very attentive. From the moment we were escorted to our table, we felt that we were well taken cared of. One of the waiters filled our plates with paella due to the big pan where it was cooked. When I was about to finish my first round, the waiter came immediately to ask if I wanted a second serving. Of course, I did not decline. All our requests were granted asap.
We shall definitely keep coming back to this resto.
