Read a lot of reviews --- they were all true

Yep, I've researched about this cake before buying and most were good reviews. I bought a small round for P365 "death by tablea" yesterday and I can say that it was quite different from other chocolate caked I've ever tasted. The cake was quite dense, the filling quite syrupy, the frosting great! The first bite tasted sweet but later on it becomes bittersweet, nice! Almost as if there's some alcohol in it and the flavor improved on the next day. It does have a distinct tablea taste. Don't expect this cake to be smooth because there is some grainy aftertaste as can be expected from a tablea. This is distinctly different and good, I give it a 9.5.

New Discovery for my Sweet Tooth

This resto goes by the logo, " Our signature chocolate cakes are baked and frosted fresh daily. Just the right amount of sweetness, but full of rich chocolate goodness!" We couldn't agree more. We bought a whole Chocolate Hazelnut cake. It is a classic cake with hazelnut spread filling, topped with hazelnut chocolate cubes. It is definetely better than the ones sold at Red Ribbon and Goldilocks. Not sweet at all. Just the right amount of sweetness as the logo says. The facade of the resto might be intimidating (such that you might think that the cakes here are expensive) but the prices are so reasonable. We bought the whole Chocolate Hazelnut cake at P495.00. There are other selections that I could not wait to try like the Death by Tablea, Kahlua, Tiramisu and the Sugar-Free Chocolate Mousse. The interior of the resto is cozy. Service was fast. We will definitely come back to indulge.

Updated on 29 July 2008:

True to my word, we came back to try the Death by Tablea and Kahlua. Very, very moist as we like them. Not so sweet at all. Trivia.....dark chocolate is healthy chocolate... so go on and indulge. The bad news is, prices have gone up. The whole Hazelnut Chocolate we bought before is now P545.00. The whole Death by Tablea is P590.00. For the taste of all the cakes, the prices are still worth every penny. Other cakes made from the exclusive villages in Metro Manila are even more expensive and sometimes overrated.
