we tried several dishes.
The parmesan crusted fish was highly recommended to us, however, this was one of the least favorite among us.
The adobo pasta was surprisingly heavenly.
It's a must try!!!
The ambiance was great. It had a warm, cozy feel to it. The food that stood out for me was their adobo pasta. Really unique and delicious! Their small cakes were cute to look at but there was nothing special about them. Their iced tea drinks were good too. They had all kinds of colors of these iced teas (brown, red, green). The restaurant itself was kind of hard to find though cause it's tucked somewhere in a residential area. The servers were smiling and nice and the place was clean. Overall, I think it's a nice place for a small family gathering or first date.
I learned of the place through blogs and reviews. Since I live near the area, tried it with a few friends in tow and was not disappointed. I love the CBK chicken. The porkchop is also good, tasty and not dry. I'm not a fan of lamb, so that one I didnt like, I think its too dry. The parmesan crusted fish, its good. We had the scarlett cake, its ok. Not bad but not really that great. Will try the chocolate cake next time.
The previous reviewer is right, there's nothing that you cant make at home. But thats the charm of it, a nice homey meal, really comforting.
Will I recommend the place? Yes, its worth the try.
Found the place very charming and warm. You definitely feel at home once you enter this small country style cafe.
The menu is very simple and homemade, but the choices of food are not much. The prices are quite reasonable though!
My fiance and I ordered their bestsellers, the Adobo pasta and the Crusted Dory fish fillet. Both were good. The pasta is great for Adobo lovers. The dory fish was very tender and succulent. The servings were just right.
The green salad with vinaigrette wasn't spectacular though and the lemonade tasted artifical or powdery. I wouldn't be that discriminating given their pricing.
I would definitely come back for some comfort food in the near future. Nice place to enjoy great and affordable food with a nice and cozy ambience.
Not wow. If you don't live near here, no need to drop by.
I had the mistake of ordering parmesa crusted fish fillet - simply because I have low tolerance for oil. But my friends had to convince me again (and again) that I should not worry much because they have been using olive oil. But still... it was not a pleasant sight. In fairness, sans the oil, the taste was okay so consider the oil as my personal pet peeve.
The good old salad was okay - again, not wow, but worth taking for the remains of the balanced diet.
I haven't touched on desserts but they look good and in fact, easy to do at home. So if you feel like you want to try something that you can not do at home, you may as well skip.
this unassuming family run restaurant is a nice place to hangout and have a good meal. i especially liked the parmesan crusted fish (which i suspect is cream dory fillet) - simple and tasty. however the best value item on the menu is the chocolate cake - a huge slab of moist, rich cake that will satisfy 2 -3 diners. the scarlet cake, another house specialty, was a disppointment, taste wise though i.e. after having tasted the chocolate cake first.
the place is not big but thats what gives it a homey warm atmosphere. the last time i ate there, one of the owners, a sweet young lady, went over to say hi and ask about the food. the rest of the family was outside enjoying their bonding moments. service is good and the servers were pretty helpful with their suggestions. parking can be pretty difficult though.
