Not that good anymore

3

I gave heat good reviews before but I had the chance to go back last month and the food selection was not that good anymore. The food were on the "not so expensive" side anymore. There were no salmon, just ordinary breaded fish, I'm not sure. No lobster, crab and prawns. I couldn't find the lamb. I think the theme musn't been asian-indian? because I couldn't see western/european food like pizza, which I was craving at that time.

I did like the peking duck rolls bcause they had the fat removed.

Kudos to their service though. The servers were very accomodating.

heat offers a wide array of dishes to fit every palate... have always enjoyed dining here...

i'm not sure if its just by chance that the last time i dined at heat, there aren't much "expensive" ingredients on its line-up of dishes... fish was just fried breaded fish, i didn't see the more expensive fishes...

the sushi and the dimsum station have been quite consistent... there's also a wide array of desserts that your eyes and tongue can feast on...

do take advantage of its promos with credit cards... they sometimes offer 20% discount for selected cards...

its attendants are quite helpful enough... i didn't experience any delay in my requests... they willingly offer a hand to carry plate/s for you if they see that you're carrying more than 1 plate... or they also offer to carry the soup you got to your table...

its different stations are manned by chefs and surely they have undergone good training, and they really interact with clients, getting feedback on the dishes they serve... friendly service...

overall, its a thumbs up!

Great Food. Loved the way they cooked their salmon. Even their lamb was delish! No weird after taste. Their bread pudding is A+.

Sadly, their crepe sucks! There's this weird, fake fruit taste, plus the crepe itself did not taste good at all. I was disappointed. Their dessert selection was not that good.

A total dining experience

This is my second time eating here and I have enjoyed it immensely. Generally speaking, the food is delicious, do try the inihaw na salmon, it's better than barbecued chicken or beef. However, there are some dishes that need to be taken out of the menu, like the breaded salmon in some kind of sauce, I can't remember what it was called, it was that unimpressive. The indian dishes were also too authentic for the filipino palate, I think. The sauces were too spicy to taste anything else. The japanese sushi bar was as good as ever. They even have this dish where the sushi sits on top of a shot glass with 1/5 filled with sake! We decided to throw away (into our mouths) the sushi and requested the chef to fill up the shot glass with the sake. The chef on hand gave us a bewildered look but obliged our request anyway. Eating here is a complete experience because not only are you immersed in the different flavors of different cultures, both the new and the familiar, but also in the atmosphere of stylized modern day fine dining. Anyone who's over 40 might miss the full flavored taste of richer foods as in the pre-health conscious decades of the past, but the food here tastes good enough to convert you to a less rich and healthier eating habit. Although you might have a tendency to overeat at this restaurant, and who doesn't. I sure did, so much so that I had room for only one desert. By the way the banana with streusel topping which I topped with white chocolate sauce from the fountain was just perfect. I wish I had room for the ice cream tepanyaki.

Have always enjoyed buffets. Family has visited Heat more than 3x already and enjoyed each visit. Love the choices but too pricey for my own pocket =) The food is okay. (Found the lunch buffet in Diamond Hotel along Roxas Blvd better even with fewer choices). There are many waiters around but it's hard to get their attention if you need something.

shangrila has a reputation for being the best in the food and hospitality industry. again, heat does not disappoint. it was the most extensive buffet line up i have ever tried. i've only tried the breakfast buffet but there was so much food that i hardly got through half of what was served. it's a must for those who want to indulge.
