Cavite's Finest

Everytime my sister and I go home to the Philippines for our annual vacation, we make sure that we take our parents and relatives to Josephine's, either in Kawit or Tagaytay, we always have a great dining experience. The food is superb, the staff is very accomodating and friendly. The ambiance is warm and inviting, a great place to hang-out and relax too, the place is clean, and you'll be convinced to come back again and again. I loved this restaurant when i was a kid and still love it now that i'm all grown-up. I recommend their Mutya ng Kabite, fried Chicken, Seafood platter, Kare-kare... well, everything on the menu is worth it! So if you happen to pass by or visit Cavite, don't fail to try Josephine's!

Okay Food, Long Wait

We had lunch at Josephine's when we went swimming in Water Camp Resort beside it last March 7. The food was okay and the price were reasonable, imagine, only 1600 for 6 people! We ordered calamares, chopsuey, lechon kawali, seafood platter and seafood rice.

The lechon kawali and chopsuey were the ones we enjoyed immensely. The vegggies on the chopsuey were fresh and the sauce was tasty; the lechon kawali was crunch and flavorful. The calamares although tasty and not rubbery, was a bit weird as it was pinkish. The seafood platter was disappointing, we were joking that we could have bought the seafood in a carinderia and they would have tasted the same (and the portions were small). We agreed that we had more value quality-wise from the seafood rice compared to the seafood platter. We had to remind the waiters to serve us sauces for our meats/seafood, and when they arrived we discovered they were nothing special. The sweet sauce for calamares was obviously soy sauce mixed with ketchup, while the soy sauce dip for the lechon kawali was just that soy sauce.

The waiters were nice but we had to wait at 30++ minutes for the food which was bad as my supervisor was pregnant and very hungry. It would have been better if the restaurant can provide free pica-pica to curb their customers' hunger. The ambience is very relaxing as it was surrounded by a pond.
