military men would surely go hungry

1

burger's good, its bread is a notch above the ordinary bread that we usually have... taste-wise, it's a thumbs up! but it's just a 1/4 lb burger (compared to many other gourmet burgers that offer 1/3 lb)... if you go there quite hungry, this will satisfy your tongue, but not your tummy...

onion ring's quite disappointing, its serving size is small and it tastes kinda old...

biggest disappointment is the milkshake! for 99 bucks, it's just a small cup, i should've just gone to the most famous coffee shop nearby!

good alternative

not all dishes i've tried are good, but if you happen to be stuck in this side of the metro and couldn't go to qc for better chinese restos, this is a good alternative...

the dimsum's are pretty standard... i've once eaten taro puff's that's not that fresh here, but maybe it's just an isolated case, as i've tried it again, and it tasted ok...

i'd say stick to the basic chinese fares and you can't go wrong... i won't recommend the fancier dishes, as i've not had my luck with them...

overall, thumbs up!

dining here brings back memories of childhood... just like what our moms fed us growing up... comfort food at its finest...

i so love the kopi... simple

i've tried the desserts, it's a bit of a let down...

one negative comment though is that the place is too cramped... you can sure hear the convo from the other tables... not a place to tambay with friends...

slow service

food is ok, nothing over the top good, but it's good...

when i last dined there with my mom, we placed our order ahead of a very large group. unfortunately, we weren't served first. some from the very large group were served first. then after a long while, 1 of our entrees finally came. we already finished our 1st entree and made several follow-ups before our 2nd entree was served... im not too happy with this...

kitchen staff should be conscious of which tables to serve first, and the entrees should come out simultaneously, as what if people in a table won't share food, it will come out that 1 has already finished eating and some aren't served their food yet...

overrated

sebastian's is highly overrated... we went there as a group and we sampled several flavors... not that it's not delicious, but i won't go ga-ga over it... i don't think it deserves all the raves it gets... it's not cheap too... i honestly think s&r's blue bunny ice cream is a lot better at a reasonable price

lonely pad thai

2

for a thai resto, i'd expect it to perfect the pad thai... i wasn't thrilled with jatujak's pad thai w/ shrimps... first, it had only 3 lonely shrimps... then it doesn't taste authentic at all... its taste reminds me of instant pancit canton...

green curry's good, but it had more eggplant and chilis than chicken...

wouldn't go back again

ok!

its buffet has several components... it has a salad bar, sashimi/maki bar, a good number of cooked dishes, and of course the ingredients for grilling... plus, the desserts aren't to be ignored...

the salad bar is pretty basic, i loved the kani salad...

it serves quite a wide array of maki's, sashimi's also good, as its quite fresh...

the cooked dishes are good, specially if you're too hungry to wait for the grill... it also has a couple of soups & sukiyaki...

as for the grill, i'd say i was expecting more varieties of things to be grilled... there are the standards, beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, fish, bbq... but i'd prefer more varieties (different preparations) of each so you won't feel "umay", as everything tastes the same after you grill them...

its dessert bar is quite good... there's mango sago, pastries, cakes (red ribbon & goldilocks), and of course, ice cream...

service isn't that good, though... if you ask for something, chances are, you'd have to ask for it again... good thing that it's a buffet, self-service set up, we won't need much of the waiters, except to refill our drinks, etc...

one thing that's worth mentioning is it has people constantly refilling the buffet line... there's also a foreign looking person checking on the buffet line every so often...

interiors are nice and simple...

overall, it's a good dining experience... though it's quite pricey, at 580/pax (without drinks)... do take advantage of its promo for mon-sat lunch, i think it's just 500/pax drinks included...

simply not worth it

tried the fish & chips, it's good, but it's nothing to go gaga over... c'mon its just cream dory that's readily available in groceries, i'm sure our moms could whip this up at home... there's no secret to cooking this dish... i'd gladly pay more for something that is hard to cook... for a resto boasting of fish, i'd expect them to have more creative fish dishes on their menu, i'm definitely not impressed with its menu...

tried the pasta mussels in penne, it tastes good, but c'mon, for the price, i'd expect a little more mussels and pasta!

i beg to disagree that servings are huge! c'mon! it's not worth it, in my opinion

servers are friendly and accomodating...

newly renovated, food is still good

this branch is newly renovated, i'm not sure though if they have finished renovating it.... they're still using the old chairs and tables, but the walls are newly painted and there's a slight change to the layout of the resto, and it's well-lit now... their menu have scotch tape taped in every possible way (not a very good 1st impression on customers)...

good thing though the food is quite consistent with the other branches.... good food i'd say

i love their nut pesto w/ hungarian sausage... it's well worth the price you're paying for... their pasta servings are quite hefty

i hope they add some meat dishes in their menu... coz their menu consists of mostly carbs... i can't find anything that i'd like to pair with my pasta

overall, i'd give it a go

boy, what happened?

haven't eaten at teriyaki boy for quite some time now, decided to try it again after a while...

first off, service sucks. when we went in, someone immediately led us to out seats (check!), but then no one came to get our orders for quite some time and it's hard to call the attention of the wait staff.

i remember when i used to eat a lot at teriyaki boy, their rice toppings are good. sarap and servings are quite ok for the price. it's the exact opposite now. prices have gone up, and servings have gotten too small.

the gyoza looks kawawa and it doesn't taste good. the yakisoba looks like it came from a pack of instant noodles. the chicken teriyaki and katsudon i used to eat before have generous servings of rice, it's the opposite now. taste is just so so

huh?

sorry, but this resto failed miserably in my vocabulary...

firstly, when i walked into this resto, all the servers were in the bar which is like 3 steps from the door, no one bothered greeting me... i even picked up the menu on top of the bar and stood there for a while reading the menu and waiting to be seated, but no one even bothered to look... i should've taken my cue on this and just ate someplace...

i tried their pizza "the works"... geez i don't even understand why they call it such! toppings were very very few, how come it's called "the works"??? some parts of the pizza looked bald (coz there aren't any toppings there)... and the crust was way too dry...

i also tried their pasta... my 1st option was not available, i can't even remember what i 1st chose... so to be safe, i ordered the lasagna instead... the lasagna had several layers and each layer had meat on it, which is good, BUT the bechamel sauce is put just on the topmost layer... which rendered this dish also particularly dry... and their pasta servings aren't big, contrary to what the server told the adjacent table that their pasta is for sharing... (good for sharing for merienda maybe!)

for a resto boasting of their pizza, and for their name carrying pizza, i don't think they lived up to my expectations at all...

i think they've opened fairly recently, as i saw this just now, but this is no excuse to give sloppy service and sloppy food...

Whaaammmm

their store in the block is quite cramped and it's quite warm inside... i prefer to sit outside its store, as the a/c in the block is quite cool...

however, this little complaint is totally ignorable once you eat their burgers... its wham burger has a 1/3 lb patty, and its burger bun is fresh... im not much of a burger fan, but i liked this burger! the fries they serve is also good... it's the imported kind that's thick...

no wonder people often flock to this place...

haven't been to tgif for a couple of years now... oh boy, i wasn't missing much...

prices have gone up, portions have gotten smaller... i'm not particularly impressed with their menu now...

if i'd spend that much money for a meal, i can go to much more places that would offer more elaborate dishes for that price...

service isn't as good as before...

one more thing, the place stinks... yosi smell everywhere, even sa non-smoking... it's like the yosi smell is stuck in the 4 corners of this resto

oopppsss i must not forget to mention, i went there coz i was craving for mocha mud pie... good thing, it's still good as before...

yellow cab pizzas have been pretty consistent... generous toppings and their serving time is pretty reasonable...

i've noticed though that their charlie chan chicken pasta has smaller servings now... fewer pasta and the toppings... it's still very good though

heat offers a wide array of dishes to fit every palate... have always enjoyed dining here...

i'm not sure if its just by chance that the last time i dined at heat, there aren't much "expensive" ingredients on its line-up of dishes... fish was just fried breaded fish, i didn't see the more expensive fishes...

the sushi and the dimsum station have been quite consistent... there's also a wide array of desserts that your eyes and tongue can feast on...

do take advantage of its promos with credit cards... they sometimes offer 20% discount for selected cards...

its attendants are quite helpful enough... i didn't experience any delay in my requests... they willingly offer a hand to carry plate/s for you if they see that you're carrying more than 1 plate... or they also offer to carry the soup you got to your table...

its different stations are manned by chefs and surely they have undergone good training, and they really interact with clients, getting feedback on the dishes they serve... friendly service...

overall, its a thumbs up!
