tasty beef

the food is good but it took awhile to get your order. ambiance is simple but I like it because I prefer this kind of furniture rather than modern one.

Good family place

The Food is excellent! I came here with the whole family. Even my kid who is such a picky eater kept on munching away. My favorites are the potao wrapped in bacon and the asparagus. Their sashimi and gyoza are also good.
We went to this restaurant on a sunday for lunch so there were also several other families around. What i can say is that their staff are not only attentive to their adult customers theyre also very good to the kids. My 5 year old was having a hard time with her chopsticks so one of the waiters devised a trainer chopsticks for her. That was very nice of them. I noticed that they would really do this for the kids.
I love this place.

Again and again

Unlike dieselgirl77, it's not just that I WOULD go back, I DO go back again and again and again. And even though I get more or less the same things, I never get tired of the food.

The pork garlic yaki and the aspara maki are the staples. Try the salmon wrapped in bacon. You should order by the stick so that you get exactly what you want in the quantity that you want. My friends prefer the nori rice over the fried rice. I like them both.

The innermost room can be too cold, while the outermost room can be too warm. The center room is just right. (I sound like Goldilocks at the house of the three bears.)

Anyway, I'll probably be there again next week. I'll be the fat one eating the liempo in the center room. See you.

mouthwatering authentic grilled jap dishes!

just writing this review is already making my mouth water.

nanbantei was introduced to me by a friend who is super "pro-nanbantei" and i just had to try to see what all the fuss is about.

frankly i've to rate 5 stars for food. taste, quality, freshness, quantity is TOP NOTCH. i would come back here again and again.

nanbantei is not your typical japanese resto where you'll eat the usual teriyaki chicken, fried tempura and california roll (although they have sushi on their menu).

their specialty is grilled dishes. sometimes when we hear grilled, we think of dry, tasteless cardboard meat. NOT IN NANBANTEI!

i recommend "BESTSELLERS" on their menu. it includes the bestselling items on their menu (duh), including grilled chicken wings, asparagus wrapped in bacon, sweet corn (to die for!), meatballs, spare ribs/liempo (my favorite of all, i don't care if there's a lining of fat, that's the best part because it melts in your mouth!).. i forgot the others.

order this with a side of regular japanese fried rice and a cold cold japanese beer (like asahi or kirin) and i promise you, this is the BOMB combination!

to top it all off, this meal that's good for 3 people costs only P700 (excluding beer and rice). service is good, too!

i would definitely come back here again!
