Distinctly different but Good

Yep, I've researched about this cake before buying and most were good reviews. I bought a small round for P365 "death by tablea" yesterday and I can say that it was quite different from other chocolate caked I've ever tasted. The cake was quite dense, the filling quite syrupy, the frosting great! The first bite tasted sweet but later on it becomes bittersweet, nice! Almost as if there's some alcohol in it and the flavor improved on the next day. It does have a distinct tablea taste. Don't expect this cake to be smooth because there is some grainy aftertaste as can be expected from a tablea. This is distinctly different and good, I give it a 9.5.

After 2 years - still consistently good

The first time I ate at Claire's was 2 years ago. We ordered 1 kilo baked tahong, crispy kangkong, 1 kilo chili garlic crabs, 1 grilled pusit, /2 kilo buttered shrimps. We really enjoyed eating everything was delicious except for the grilled pusit. The pusit was quite tough but maybe because it was quite large sized for grilling.

Recently, I went there and took a different set of friends there for a celebration. I bought with me 2 kilo tahong, 1 kilo shrimps, 1 kilo pusit, 1 kilo maya-maya, 2 kilo bakla crabs(meatier)

The tahong was transformed into baked mussels, the pusit into calamares, the crabs into sweet chili crabs, the shrimps into sweet buttered shrimps, and the maya-maya steaks into sigang sa miso and they removed the tinik (wonderful idea). I also ordered 2 large crispy kangkong, 3 1.5 liter softdrinks and 3 bowls rice. This meal was able to feed all 15 of us and there some left for takeout! Unbelievable! The average price for the paluto per kilo is around P220. The other paluto places around it charge a lot cheaper at 200 or 170 per kilo but I chose this place because of the ambience. It has the most comfiest interiors in san mig by the bay. No band or Karaoke. It is just right for intimate family gatherings, get togethers for chit-chats, dinner meetings, and a place where foreigners can enjoy Filipino seafood. The dishes were not at all too salty or greasy, just delicious.

No free ice teas but the cooking was worth every penny. The actual waiting took around 30 minutes, but I did say I want everything cooked just right. I was given 10% discount, well because I asked. The cost per person was around P230 (paluto + market cost), not bad for this seafood galore until we got stuffed. Will definitely come here again!
