Afternoon Tea

Makati Shangri-la's Lobby Lounge recaptures the splendor and elegance of English High Tea and a lavish spread of Filipino High Tea. In the 1800s, High Tea was elevated into an elegant affair by the British upper class where then, as it is now, the highest standards of etiquette and social graces are observed. Victorian tea etiquette suggest that the tea be brewed in a teapot, then poured into a China cup, weakened with a little hot water, sugar added, and lastly, lemon, milk or cream.

The Classic Afternoon Tea: P510.00; Selection of finger sandwiches, scones with homemade fruit preserves and clotted cream, tea cakes and pastries. Choice of fine teas and infusions from our extensive range. Available from 3pm to 6pm daily.

The Filipino Afternoon Tea: P510.00; Bibingka (sweet rice cake), lumpiang ubod (fresh heart of palm spring rolls), bistek tagalog sandwich, chicken empanada, guinataang halo-halo (glutinous rice balls, purple yam and banana cooked in coconut), suman (sticky rice), banana turon (banana and jackfruit spring roll). Choice of ginger tea or hot chocolate. Available from 3pm to 6pm daily.
