They are the best Japanese Noodle House in the Philippines. I grew up eating from this place and it is always packed with people. Service may be a bit slow especially if there are a lot of people.Rating

You will see a lot of Japanese people eating here. A rule of thumb to know if the place serves authentic cuisine is if the place is packed with locals from that country. Shinjuku Ramen House, Makati Ave. - Was this review...? Useful | Useless | Bogus

There were 14 of us, wanting to have a taste of not just one dish, but have a share in several. So besides ordering different types of noodles which we shared, the dishes meant for sharing were not available - the salmon, the fish, the grilled squid.. We had gyoza, tempura and seafood teppanyaki, all very good, but I wish we shared more. Also, one of our big bowls of seafood noodles came way too late, some of us decided to already have dessert while others partook of it. Shinjuku Ramen House, Makati Ave.Rating

i don't know what it is about a steaming bowl of noodle soup that just completely comforts me. it's most satisfying during gray & rainy days but just as lip-smacking good during hot summer days.Rating

visited this place after YEARS since my last visit and the place has not changed at all! the interior looks like it's from the previous tenants - probably a mediterranean restaurant. but who cares?! the ramen is gooood.
they have 2 sizes, small and regular (which really looks like a basin - where you should put your face over with a towel covering your head!). small is really more than enough for one.
there are so many noodles to choose from and since their menu comes with pictures, you can spend a good ten minutes drooling over all the different noodles to choose from.
since my hubby and i were starving we found our targets easily: sapporo corn (slivers of tender porkloin with corn and vegetables in soy-based broth), moyoshi ankake (mixed vegetables with some pork slices, mostly bean sprouts in thickened soy-based broth) and chicken karaage. we had salmon sashimi to start.
at first i was wary of ordering sashimi from this ramen house but my apprehensions were shattered after the first bite. it was fresh, soft and oh-so flavorful. there were about 8 slices there.
the ramen was very2x good and quite filling. if you're not that hungry, i suggest you share the regular portion with someone and order gyoza on the side. there was just the right amount of toppings to the noodles. noodles were firm to the bite, which i love. the stock was seasoned wonderfully, it didn't leave that dry taste in my mouth as other ramen soups do.
i was looking forward to eating their desserts (they had a few shaved ice desserts topped with so and so) but unfortunately was too full.
i highly recommend this place! Shinjuku Ramen House, Makati Ave. - Was this review...? Useful | Useless | Bogus

my friends and i sampled their Manten ramen and yakisoba. following some blog reviews, we ordered just the Small serving for both and it was a good idea too! Imagine 3 people sharing the ramen! Well if you're really famished, 2 people can slurp their way to satisfaction! So I guess 4 people can enjoy the Large serving? Being a soup lover, I would prefer a dish that offers a lot of "fillings" in it, and this is where Shinjuku delivers well.
Finally, we also had their popular gyoza, it is good but not sensational, as it did compare with the ones being served at other Japanese restaurants. so nothing fancy that would make you order more!
The crowd is a mixed bag, families with kids, couples and those about to saunter off to the clubs nearby (it is located in Makati's red light district).
Conclusion: I would go back on occasion if I crave for some good hearty ramen! Although it is expensive, you can always split between friends or family and make it a more enjoyable dining experience! Shinjuku Ramen House, Makati Ave. - Was this review...? Useful | Useless | Bogus
