I ate here a few years ago, but it wasn't so special back then so I wasn't expecting much when I had dinner with the family there.Rating

I had the Angus Bacon and was able to try the Chicken Marsala and Fusion Paella and they were all surprisingly good! It must have been something they put in the sauces! The pandan iced tea was also a refreshing treat. Nothing too special with the creme brulee though.
I will definitely come back again to try the other dishes (like the pork belly). Katre Mediterranean Restaurant, Quezon City - Was this review...? Useful | Useless | Bogus

this is a welcoming restaurant, all white walls, cozy atmosphere, not too noisy. there are two floors and when we got there the owner greeted us.Rating

but i wasn't completely wowed by the experience. food was okay but nothing to write home about. the only thing memorable we ordered was the angus bacon. i really enjoyed it and so did my husband - but our companions commented the beef was a little too "knorred" up.
we also ordered the seafood bisque. it wasn't fishy (malangsa) and it was good. my complaint is i had to have it returned to the kitchen because it wasn't served hot. also had the grilled mahi-mahi which came out lukewarm. i don't know if this is the trend in this restaurant but i like my meals hot and fresh off the oven/stove. i didn't return the fish anymore for fear it would come back hot but gummy. flavor wise it was just okay for me - didn't turn me on.
also had their "famous" beef quesadilla. why it's famous - i'm not so sure. my friend had the pasta ala katre - just so so.
all in all - service was attentive, ambiance was nice, it looks like a great place to bring a date or hangout with friends to catch up. but if you want a food party in your mouth - this is not the place to go. i won't be hankering for katre any time soon. I dined here on a whim and found out that I have been missing out on a really good thing. The food was actually quite good!Rating

To start we had the Hearts of Romaine and the Beef Quesadillas, both of which were very tasty. Our main courses were also good... The Chicken with Pasta was simple but rich and flavorful. My dish- the Top Blade with Mushrooms and Brocolli, Mashed Potato and Horseradish- was surprisingly tender, the sauce was nicely-balanced, and the sides were also quite yummy.
The only downside here is the wine selection. With good food, diners expect to be offered good wines to go along with it. Especially since they're specializing on Meditarranean cuisine, I would have expected them to have at least a better choice for their house wine.
Service was fast enough, although the servers looked unhappy. Katre Mediterranean Restaurant, Quezon City - Was this review...? Useful | Useless | Bogus
