of all the restaurants in greenbelt 5, fish out of water has one of the most innovative menus so far. there's a fresh new twist to local and asian flavors which makes every item on the menu a must-try.

I've been here a lot of times. and during the mid of september, even dining here 2x a week.

the food is great. for starters, i recommend the danggit salad and their creamy kuhol soup which you can request to be split.

Try the seafood paella which was very, very good and the servings were generous. don't miss the grilled saranggani bangus belly with longganisa risotto which i never fail to order every time i eat here. there is also a clever twist to the fried labahita fillets which they served with mashed taro instead of potato.

We also loved their smoked fish pizza with kesong puti i just wish they'd make the size bigger.

new to their menu are the vietnamese crabs which i'm trying on my next visit.

the food is good, the service is good. the ambiance is cozy. the servings are generous. the prices are sane. I just noticed one thing - THE FOOD IS INCONSISTENT. There's a major difference dining here on weekdays and weekends and the taste of the food shows if its rushed, esp. on a packed weekend dinner. but over-all i love this place!

The title says everything that I am supposed to write. I just had dinner there tonight with a friend, we had the Paella which to our surprise is a bigger serving than we thought. Initially I ordered carrot juice shake (i'm a sucker for for it), but then the waiter came back and informed me that their carrots somehow started to smell funny -- it was nice of them to do that... i appreciate their gesture of honesty.

I printed the promo that they offer to us Munchpunchers and we got the Ham, Bacon and Cheese Croquettes for appetizers as well as the 5% disc. -- no fuss no hassle.

The Barako Cheesecake was a revelation... coffee and cheese together yet each flavor is tasted distinctly from each other.

All in all it was a great experience and I sure would be going back to get my teeth on their vigan longganisa pizza.

Fish Out of Water -- highly recommended!

I had Pateros Crab with balut mixed into the chili sauce; Changi Butterflied Tilapia with black pepper sauce; Killer Rock Lobster with killer aligue sauce.

I'm going back to try the Twice Cooked Pork Belly and all the other stuff.

When my Muslim guests could not eat the Oysters Rockefeller because of the bacon bits, the staff volunteered to replace our order with another set of oysters without pork.

Love their menu...lots too chose from and they even have exotic dishes. I love their crisp espada show and ostrich salpicao. Quite pricey though.

Reservation: It was an easy reseration for a table for two, i requested for a corner table and it was granted. When i got there music was quite loud but the waiter quickly toned down the music, which was very sensitive and intuitive of him.

Food: It was great, very nice food presentation and taste. Ostrich and butterfly tilapia was good.

Service: I'd say two-thumbs up. i mentioned munch punch and they gave us the free appetizer. However, they didn't give us the 5% discount as advertised.

Overall: It was a great experience, i'd probably have my next date there.

Good food but need to improve service

I booked a table in Fish Out of Water to celebrate my husband's birthday. Inviting all the relatives and buying a dinner for all, I asked all guests to order their Appetizers and Entrees separately - since this is a treat and everybody are entitled to indulge.

Food was superb but Chef probably needs to understand the rule of fine dining. Appetizers should go out first before Entree and ordered foods should come out at the same time to avoid other guests salivating on other people's food.

My mother's entree which is a Shrimp Penne came out first and her Fried babby squid Appetizers did not even come out so we need to cancel it. My Entree which is a Crab Salad came out first before my Vegetarian Samosa appetizers.

My non-Filipino husband was not very impressed and even swore McDonald's have better service than this.

As I said, they have Good Food But They Need to Improve The Service.

I am equally intrigued with how these guys come up with the menu and the concept. If I got my story straight, the whole idea is a tribute dedicated to the first group of successful Filipino Men who went out the country and made us Filipinos proud but were never popular.

I left the restaurant impressed with their strong sense of creativity, food passion and nationality.

I'll let you ask the manager for the full story.

I enjoyed both the Butterflied Tilapia and Maya Maya Fish Head Curry. The food is superb and it goes the same for their creativity. Great food, great customer service!

    This is a must try!

Fish Out of Water uses local ingredients in their dishes. Examples: Vigan longganisa found its way in their pizza and kesong puti in the cheesecake.
I have eaten here twice already... and I am still craving for their baby squid appetizer!
