Very few people might know of this Little Tokyo place along Pasong Tamo. It is actually a block made up of small japanese restaurants, located beside Makati Cinema Square. It's not a date place but if you want really good japanese food, this is the place to go. The servings are ample enough for you to be satisfied and the price is not bad at all. Sulit na sulit. It's usually filled to capacity during lunch time. It's sort of Makati's little secret in that it's hard to find a reasonably priced restuarant in Makati that serves food this good. The iced coffee is especially memorable. I mean forget Starbucks' Frapuccinos. The iced coffee is as good as it gets. Although I warn you it is very strong. I lied awake all night and I drank it sometime after lunch! The Bento box set meals are good but there are other dishes that the more adventurous eater might like to try, I personally liked the bowl of rice with raw salmon & salmon roe as topping. Although admittedly eating a whole bowl of it nearly made me sick, but it was worth it.Rating

When I was in college the only Jap resto that i go to is Tokyo Tokyo, basically because of the refillable rice.. always on the cross-cutting back then haha. I wasnt really a fan of Jap cuisine until now. My current girlfriend loves Japanese food and she introduced me to this restaurant. Cozy place, neat ambience and friendly looking "jokyus". I imagine that this setup is just the typical resto that you find in Japan. Not the sossy or high-classed restors Seats at the bar where cooks are chopping and cooking right in front of you, regular tables and Japanese style tables are availalbe. Dozens of jokyu greeting ohayougozaimasu once you step in the sliding door. They only serve lunch from 11am-1pm and I'm just not sure what time do they serve dinner as I havn't eaten supper there yet. The setup of their menu is of course, a set that usually includes Miso soup, salad, a cup of viand (im not sure what do they call it but its just a small serving of what they have for the day) and a dessert which is serve after the meal w/ a choice of iced coffee, a scoop of ice cream or a slice of melon. Considering my status, for me its a little bit pricey but it worth it as it always meet the quantity and quality of the food, I never left there w/o a burp. I love meat, I always go either for pork or beef so pork tonkatsu, katsudon, hamburg or beef teriyaki are the usual orders. My girlfriend always orders their fish servings, I dont know what they call it, so I also have some of hers. We also love their Salmon, its not as cold that can make your taste buds numb, enabling you to taste its fresh and true taste. Best Salmon of all the Jap resto that ive gone to. For us Kikufuji is the best Jap resto that you can find in Makati, where value meets its quality and quantity.Rating
