    before anything else, you need to know that behind the scenes and inside the kitchen is Mommy Thai, the wonder cook who was the owner of the awesome UP Thai Canteen (yes, for those of you who remember, it was one of the best food secrets of UP Diliman that served Chicken, Beef, & Mixed at cheap prices). after a few years of manning the canteen, Mommy Thai closed shop and went on hiatus, but now she's back and with a vengeance. you have got to try the food here. the tom yum is the most authentic tom yum i've ever tasted, the taste is the perfect combination of hot & sour and seafoody, i could just eat that and smile for hours. and the khao pad (the restaurant's name which is also thai fried rice), is a meal in itself, but is not too flavorful to match with the viands. and the curry, you've got to try this, but remember to tell the waiter or Mommy Thai if you want it mild or authentic Thai spicy (if you choose the latter, get ready to sweat, but it's worth it). and even though it's not in the menu, you can request for the famous "Mixed", just tell the waiter and Mommy Thai will whip up the special dish just for you (for those who don't know it, Mixed is a combination of seafood, chicken, beef & vegetables in special sauce, huge servings & really cheap, like everything else on the menu). what can i say, i love authentic thai food. be sure to check this place out, it's inside the ortigas home depot complex, near metrowalk. Khao Pad, Quezon City
