great chinese resto!

Don't like eating in chinese restos becos I have an impression that all of them have dirty restrooms and mostly becos of the slow service and it really takes a long time for the food to be set on the table, you always have to wait a long time for the food to arrive. But since my lola can't really walk anymore and is on a wheelchair already, we couldn't go far so we decided to eat there for Mother's Day.
The food was suprisingly really excellent! we had siopao, the dough was soft and the palaman was meaty.
we also had pancit canton, spinach soup, steamed lapulapu and luk foo chicken which tasted like pecking duck, the spare ribs were superb and even though the house was full and jam-packed, the service was still very fast and the manager still mingled with us and asked us about how we liked the food and if everything was okay.
and the head waiter, despite of being busy, still managed to change our plates, not to mention joking and laughing with us.
also, the crew was always smiling and was so easy to talk to if you have requests.
the price was cheap also!
try their guyabano shake!
great, over-all!

i was randomly surfing the net when i came across @johnsonsy's review about luk foo caloocans ribs and coldcuts. i definitely agree, about the coldcuts and ribs and the ambianse.
i'm a regular there.my family and me have been going there for a long time. i consider it as my sencond home some how because we are there a lot.
one time, my family and me decided to go to a hong kong emperor just to try it. we ordered yang chow and fish. suddenly when were about halfway through, a big cockroach come out of one of the dishes. eww!!!!!!!
my family and me never go to another resaurant again. just luk foo:-)
i'm impressed by how clean they are, even after about 4 or 5 years. the plates are never oily or sticky and there is never a cockroach coming out of the dishes! hahahaha
two thumbs up!

Luk Foo Monumento:)

As an avid food blogger, I often eat a variety of dishes from different resto's for the sake of comparison. I tried "LUK FOO MONUMENTO" recently, and I was really surprised.
I expected and predicted the food to be average, as it has been on its other branches, but it has impressively exceeded my expectations.
However, it wasn't the food and the dishes that surprised me, it was the hominess that I felt.
I observe many thing when I come into a resto, from its cleanliness to its interior design and eventually its ambiance.
Ambiance-wise, this one definitely ranks high on my list of best resto's.
I advise you to come and try this particular Luk Foo branch, you definitely won't be disappointed.
Try their cold-cuts and spare ribs. Yum-yum!

Affordable and good food

The food at Boy Ching's very good and affordable. I like their lechon tokwa, camaron , and pancit alanganin. The lechon kawali is very crispy.
The only problem is the location of the place. If you're not from caloocan you wont be able to see it.
i just hope they will offer free delivery within caloocan.

Epitome of Fine Dining

5

"Epitome of fine dining"; The title is self explanatory. It is the embodiment of class and sophistication.
This branch is prominent among all the rest as it has a warm, hospitable ambiance.
It has clean and tidy restrooms as if it is not a Chinese restaurant's,you would think that the restroom is of some 5 star restaurant in France.
I was also very pleased with the warmth that the staff made me feel, you can tell they treated each other like family and they all greeted me in zeal and with great enthusiasm.
I was amused about the quickness of the service,I didn't have to wait a long time for my food the be ready. The dishes were all clean and neat. It's something that all restaurants should emulate.
I was swept off my feet when I first tasted their food. It was exquisite! Not even a shred of Imperfection. I probably should have restrained myself from consuming too much that day, but I rarely ever get to taste something as amazing as their sweet and sour pork.My memory serves me correctly that the Luk foo chicken tickled my taste buds as well.
When you eventually go there I recommend that you indulge yourself in the refined cuisine they serve and pander to any temptation that you'll feel because I guarantee that it will not disappoint.

good alternative

not all dishes i've tried are good, but if you happen to be stuck in this side of the metro and couldn't go to qc for better chinese restos, this is a good alternative...

the dimsum's are pretty standard... i've once eaten taro puff's that's not that fresh here, but maybe it's just an isolated case, as i've tried it again, and it tasted ok...

i'd say stick to the basic chinese fares and you can't go wrong... i won't recommend the fancier dishes, as i've not had my luck with them...

yummy

yellow cab pizzas have been pretty consistent... generous toppings and their serving time is pretty reasonable...

i've noticed though that their charlie chan chicken pasta has smaller servings now... fewer pasta and the toppings... it's still very good though

at first i was skeptical to go in as if someone in the back of my mind is saying its the same, chinese food.. dimsum.. etc. but im glad i did, the food was great especially the dim sum's and the noodles, scrumptuos. the food knows how to play with your pallet and can deliver exquisite taste. the ambience is nice in the inside, especially the bar, the settings, the lavatories, they are very neat and resembles high-grade restaurants. the service is good too. the prices are ok, but be sure you bring along extra as you may go spending out of curiosity.

Biggest No for Malabon Branch

2

Max Restaurant is known for serving tasty fried chicken meals (and other Filipino dishes) and we all know that they've been around for a long time.

We tried dining in at Max Restaurant in Malabon. The moment it opened, we all decided to give it a try and dine it. Same old Max dishes. But something's wrong with the taste of their chopsuey (as though some sort of chemical made it there).

Then we had several bad encounters of poor accomodation: frequent wrong food orders, slow customer service. Most of their waiters can often be seen moving around idly ...or watching the tv (which is, by the way, meant for customers).

On our last dining moment, they served us this super oily pancit.

Other Max Restaurants are highly recommendable.
