Good, but not great

Oh what media hype can do! If you are planning to have a meal here expecting to be blown away by the best hainanese chicken, you're in for a mild disappointment. It's not that the chicken isn't good, it's actually very delicious, juicy, and comforting. It's just that it was simply that -- good, but not spectacular as what everyone makes it out to be. The other dishes we ordered -- marmite pork ribs, cereal prawns, and hong kong fried noodles -- were all right, similarly familiar, comforting, and flavorful. All in all, the meal was okay -- nothing pretentious, and nothing that will blow you away. The meal reminded me of the comfort and familiarity I always get when eating at North Park. Price-wise, it was a little pricey for something that reminded me of North Park. For our party of 4, we paid around P470 each -- that's just 4 short orders and rice, no dessert. Service on the other hand was efficient and polite. No complaints at all. So anyway, while the food wasn't exactly out of this world as I've been reading all over the blogosphere, it was satisfying and flavorful, and I wouldn't mind coming back again sometime.
